After exiting a compound clip random changes are applied to the clips

Hi all, i am having problems with final cut pro where i am colour correcting inside a compound clip, all is fine, but once i come out of it, it either dumps the shadows, boosts the saturation or boosts the red in the shadows... any thoughts?

mainly dose this after I have used after effects....Weird, don't know why that should make a difference...
